About This Walk

Walk the most popular section of the ancient Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail, one of only two pilgrimage routes in the world designated as UNESCO World Heritage. For over 1,000 years, pilgrims have walked these stone-paved paths through cedar forests to the sacred Kumano Hongu Taisha shrine.
